Meet Leo!
Leo was surrendered to a local veterinary clinic when his previous owner was unable to provide medical care to him. He was experiencing issues urinating and was covered in fleas. The clinic provided him with much needed medical care and cared for him for over a month while looking for a rescue placement that could find him a forever home.
Leo has a history of urinary blockage so is currently on a prescription urinary diet that helps to keep his urinary tract healthy and prevent further episodes. This diet will be recommended life-long unless otherwise advised by a veterinarian. To further reduce the chances of ongoing urinary issues KAR elected to have a perineal urethrostomy performed - this surgery widens the urethra of the cat to significantly reduce the likelihood of recurrent urinary issues. There is no further treatment required now that he has healed from his surgery!
Leo is currently in foster with another KAR alumni and they get along very well, he has also lived with cats previously so he would likely do well in a home with other friendly cats.
Leo is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, treated for fleas, vaccinate and tested negative for Feline Leukemia and Immunodeficiency viruses. His non-core vaccine is pending.
