Today was a very busy day for us. We took in 10 bunnies, assisting a regional shelter after the rabbits were removed from a breeder, and we took in 8 rats – 18 animals in all! These guys join four bunnies we recently took in, three of which were found abandoned outside. It has been a very busy time for our small volunteer-run rescue.
Thank you to the foster homes who opened their homes and hearts, the volunteers who helped process animals, Pet Valu for donating rabbit food, Clayton Flooring Inc. for donating linoleum for our pens, Zoey and Lilo's Toy Box for donating hammocks for the rats, and Dr. Munn and staff at Norwood Veterinary Services for their excellent care of this group of animals – 8 of the bunnies and 5 of the rats are battling upper respiratory infections.
Between treatment of their illness and spay/neuter, the medical care for this special group of bunnies is anticipated to cost at least $3,000. Please give to help cover these costs.
